Alexi Zentner


Alexi Zentner is the author of the novel, Copperhead, from Viking Penguin. He is also the author of the internationally acclaimed novels, The Lobster Kings, and Touch. Under the pseudonym Ezekiel Boone, Alexi is the author of the internationally bestselling The Hatching series (The Hatching, Skitter, and Zero Day) as well as The Mansion. His work has been published in eighteen territories and more than fourteen languages. Several projects are currently under development for the screen.

Among other honors, Alexi's novels have won le prix Masterton, and been shortlisted for the PRIX Imaginaire découverte, The Governor General's Literary Award, The Center for Fiction's Flahery-Dunnan First Novel Prize, the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award, the Amazon.ca First Novel Award, the Ontario Library Association Forest of Reading Evergreen Award for Adult Fiction, the New England Society Book Award, and been longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, the IMPAC Dublin Literary Award (twice), the Maine Library Readers' Choice Award, and the Goodreads Choice Awards.

Alexi Zentner (born August 29, 1973 in Kitchener, Ontario) is a Canadian-American short story writer, and novelist.

Life

He graduated from Grinnell College with a BA[1] and Cornell University with an MFA.[2] He taught at Cornell University.[3][4][5] He's now on the faculty at Binghamton University.[6]

His fiction has also appeared in The Atlantic Monthly,[7]Narrative Magazine (where it was awarded the 2008 Narrative Prize).[8]

He lives in Ithaca, New York, with his wife and two children.

Awards

His short story "Touch," originally published in Tin House is featured in The O. Henry Prize Stories 2008 where it was chosen as a jury favorite by author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.[9] Two of Alexi's short stories were also selected for "special mention" in the 2008 Pushcart Prize anthology. "Trapline" was awarded the 2008 Narrative Prize.

His debut novelTouch was a longlisted nominee for the 2011 Scotiabank Giller Prize[10]
