Allison Baver (born August 11, 1980) is an American retired short track speed skater. A member of the U.S. short track speed skating squad beginning in 2002, Baver earned multiple medals in ISU World Cup competition.[2] Baver competed in the 500m, 1000m, 1500m, and 3000m relay events and trained with the US permanent winter sports Olympic team in Salt Lake City, Utah. Allison Baver stands proudly among the world's preeminent female short track speedskaters of the 21st century. The 2007 U.S. short track champion first gained global prominence at the 2002 Winter Olympics.
The 5-4 Reading, Pa. native is believed to be the first female U.S. inline skater to qualify for the Olympics in short track speedskating.
At 11, Allison competed in the National Roller Skating Championships in Philadelphia, Pa., and at Wilson High School, she was a soccer player and cheerleader. She did not take up speedskating until her junior year of high school.
A member of the U.S. short track speedskating squad since 2002, Allison has earned multiple medals in ISU Short Track World Cup competition.
The year 2009 will be devoted to training for her third Olympics, the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, she placed seventh in the women's 500-meter event and her 3000-meter relay team finished fourth.

Allison Baver Biography
Allison Baver is a short track speed skater who competed for Team USA at the 2002, 2006, and 2010 Winter Olympics. In Turin, Baver finished seventh in the 500m. She took home a bronze medal in the 3000m relay in Vancouver, but did not make it to the finals in either the 1000m or 1500m. A year prior to competing at the 2010 Games, Baver broke her leg, but still returned to compete. She was a national champion in short track in 2007 despite suffering an ankle injury during the 2006 Olympics. Baver was the first inline speed skater to cross over to ice and qualify for the Olympic team. She set the American record in the 1000m and currently holds the American records in the 1500m and 3000m relays. She is a native of Reading, Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State. Baver founded the Off The Ice Foundation in 2010, which brings skating sports and educational programs into communities. She has endorsement partnerships with Penske Truck Rental and Proctor & Gamble Beauty and has worked with numerous other companies throughout her career.
