Audien to bring the heat at 301

Audien is part of the next wave of producers not handcuffed to a specific genre in electronic dance music.

The 24-year-old producer, born Nathaniel Rathbun, went from falling in love with electronic dance music through Armin Van Buuren’s radio show “A State of Trance” (ASOT). Three years later, he opened up for the trance king in 2011.

“It was insane,” Audien said in an interview with the El Paso Times. “I had dressed up as Armin for Halloween in high school, so, sharing the stage with him and befriending him was exciting. I really admire Armin's respect for young talent and desire to help cultivate it. His ASOT shows have been some of my favorites.”

That was only the beginning in a string of events that made Audien a staple in the dance music scene.

Audien released “Eventide” and “Wayfarer” on Anjunabeats, a UK label founded by the fellas of Above & Beyond.

Young American DJ Audien was born in 1992. He not only plays dance music in clubs, but is also quite successful in producing. The artist creates music tracks in the genres of progressive house, trance, as well as electro-house. The DJ began active musical activity in 2009 and is popular to this day, continuing to create new, interesting tracks. Among the artist's labels are Armada music, Spinnin Records, Astralwerks. In 2008, the musician signed a contract with the Dutch recording studio Ferry Corsten, and after a while his tracks appeared on the Corstens Countdown, Trance Around The World, as well as the festival A Stare of Trance.

The first single of the artist was called Rise & Shine, and in 2012 a track called These are the days was released. In the same year, the single Eventide was released, and exactly one year later, the track Wayferer appeared, which was the first to play at the Group Therapy festival. In the middle of a global explosion of Electronic Dance Music, a genre that thrives in the most exclusive nightclubs of the world's cosmopolitan cities, a prodigious producer has emerged from the unlikeliest of places. The small seaport town of Mystic, Connecticut, has been the home of Audien (AKA Nate Rathbun) for his entire life, and it's in a small apartment in Mystic where Audien began creating music in 2008. Using a very basic set up, and a secret cocktail of plug-ins, Audien worked diligently to hone his craft. By age 17, while his friends were either preparing college applications or teeing up jobs, Audien began to test the waters by sending his unsolicited music out to producers, labels & bloggers.
