Bibbe Hansen is an American performance artist, musician and actress.
Family
Hansen's parents were Bohemian Jewish poet Audrey Ostlin Hansen and Fluxus artist Al Hansen, a participant in the Andy Warhol Factory.[1] Her stepfather was Jimmy Shapiro. She is the mother of three children, Beck Hansen, Channing Hansen and Rain Whittaker, a musician, artist and poet respectively.[2] Hansen delivered her future daughter-in-law, Marissa Ribisi, and Marissa's twin brother, Giovanni, when they were born.[3] Hansen is grandmother to Beck and Marissa's two children, Cosimo and Tuesday, and Channing's son, Aubrey.[citation needed]
Acting career
Hansen began her professional acting career as a child with the Saranac Lake Summer Theater in upstate New York.[4] As a teenager in the mid-1960s, Hansen appeared in films by avant-garde filmmaker Jonas Mekas.

Warhols Film Prison handelt von Bibbe Hansens Erfahrungen in einem Jugendgefängnis, sie spielte darin selbst die Hauptrolle. Sie ist die Mutter des Musikers Beck Hansen.
Leben
[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]Bibbe Hansen wuchs im Umfeld der New Yorker Bohème auf. Ihr Vater war der Fluxus-Künstler Al Hansen, ihre Mutter die Dichterin Audrey Ostlin Hansen. Ihre Kindheit sei „chaotisch“, aber auch „inspirierend“ gewesen, sagte Hansen in einem Interview. Ihr Vater sei „ebenso genial wie unzuverlässig“ gewesen, sagte sie, ihre Mutter sei ein Heroin-Junkie gewesen. Sie nahm an Happenings mit Marcel Duchamp teil, die ihr Vater veranstaltete, und erhielt Tanz- und Schauspielunterricht und spielte ab dem Alter von 11 Jahren Theater. What can you tell me about Ondine?
Something about Ondine. OK. You could never leave anything at the Factory. He would take it, and with scissors and a needle and thread and staples and tape and Lord knows what not... and he would take it and make it into some article of clothing for himself.
So somebody was always furious ..... I would just think... like they were silly. Why would you leave a cashmere sweater lying around. here....you know that Ondine is going to make it into a turban. Or a draper, you know. I don’t know. I guess he would speed madly all night and that was one of his arts. One of his ways of expressing himself was making these wonderful outfits. But, I remember one time apparently no one had left anything that he could work with, and we came in and he was wearing an outfit made entirely out of green/grey trash bags which completely predicts the whole punk fashion; trash bag...punk fashion craze by many, many years.
