Michael W. Goheen
Dr. Mike Goheen began his professional life as a church planter and pastor in the Toronto area. Then, for over two decades, he taught worldview studies, biblical theology, and missiology at Dordt College, Redeemer University College, Trinity Western University, Regent College, Calvin Theological Seminary, and Covenant Seminary. For most of that time, he has held part-time pastoral and preaching positions in local congregations.
Presently, he splits his time between Vancouver, Canada, and Phoenix, Arizona, where he teaches and directs the theological education program at the Missional Training Center (MTC), an extension site of Calvin Seminary. He also spends time each year in Brazil and Chile training pastoral leaders.
Mike has authored, co-authored, or edited thirteen books, including The Church and Its Vocation: Lesslie Newbigin’s Missional Ecclesiology (Baker, 2018), Introducing Christian Mission Today: Scripture, History, and Issues (IVP, 2014), and A Light to the Nations: The Missional Church and the Biblical Story (Baker, 2011).

Michael W. Goheen is professor missional theology and director of theological education at Missional Training Center, Phoenix, AZ (extension site of Calvin Theological Seminary) and professor of missional theology at Calvin Theological Seminary, Grand Rapids. Prior to this he taught worldview studies, biblical studies, mission and world Christianity at Covenant Seminary, Trinity Western University, Regent College, Redeemer University College, and Dordt College.
He obtained his PhD from University of Utrecht in 2000 with a dissertation on Lesslie Newbigin’s missionary ecclesiology. He also studied at the Institute of Christian Studies, Westminster Theological Seminary and Florida Atlantic University.
